Short story contest #32 launched on June 10, 2018. Its premise is
NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE
For this contest, write a creative, compelling, well-crafted story between 1,000 and 5,000 words long in which in which one or more characters almost die, but do not. (Other characters in the story can die, but not the one(s) the story focuses on.)
GENRE RULES: No children's fiction, no exploitative sex, no over-the-top grossout horror, and no stories that are obvious parodies of well-known fictional worlds/characters created by other authors.
